Does cleaning my carpet wear it out ?
No . Regular professional cleanings are a must and will actually lengthen the lfe span of your carpet . Dirt in your carpet coupled with foot traffic produces a "sand paper effect" that will lead to premature wear . Regular professional cleanings and frequent vacuuming are the key to keeping your carpet in good condition .
What cleaning method is best ?
Leading carpet manufacturers and highly regarded cleaning experts recommend the "hot water extraction" method popularly known as steam cleaning . The major advantages of this method over others is it provides a much deeper and through cleaning agent and it leaves your carpet in a low residue state after cleaning . "dry" carpet cleaning methods are much less effective and tend to leave your carpet in a high residue state after cleaning which actually attracts new dirt like a magnet .
Why not clean it myself ?
If your carpet or upholstery is heavily soiled you will have little luck and poor results with a small portable cleaning unit that you rent or own . The old saying stands "you get what you pay for" .
